Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the unstability of a ball valve with the contact of the valve and valve seat with each other made close by shaping the valve seat into tapering form and locating the contact of the seat and the outer-circumferential face of the valve with each other and the large aperture portion of the seat slightly on the passage and valve chamber side with respect to the center of the valve. CONSTITUTION:A valve chamber 5 is formed of a valve seat 3 provided in the passage 2 of a valve body and a stopper 7 having a leg 6 and fastened to a conduit 8 so that a ball valve 3 may not uselessly shift. The seat 3 is so formed that the tapering angle alpha thereof may be acute, the contact T thereof with the outer-circumferential face of the valve 4 may be located slightly on the passage 2 side with respect to the center 0 of the valve 4, and the large aperture T' of the valve 3 may be located slightly on the valve chamber 5 side with respect to the center 0 of the valve 4. When high temperature is suddenly supplied to a valve chamber 5 on the closure of the valve 4, therefore, the valve 4 comes in close contact with the seat 3. Thus, the valve 4 is little affected by the turbulence generated in the chamber 5 on the closure of the valve 4 so that the stability thereof can be raised.
