Abstract

PURPOSE:To rotate synchronously two crankshafts in the opposite direction to each other which are respectively connected to two connecting rods connected in turn to a piston for cancelling side thrust of the piston and preventing knocking noise and seizure. CONSTITUTION:On a piston 1 fitted into a cylinder 1a are pivotally mounted head ends 2a, 3a of two connecting rods 2, 3 by a piston pin 4. The tail ends 2b, 3b of the connecting rods 2, 3 are pivotally mounted on crank webs 6a, 7a of crankshafts 6, 7 journaled on a crank case 5. On the other hand, on two shafts 8, 9 parallel to the crankshafts 6, 7 are fitted respectively sprockets 18, 19 and gears 28, 29 to be connected to the crankshafts 6, 7 for synchronous rotation in the opposite direction.
