Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a wetting agent used for raising the quality of paint, paper, etc., and also for preventing the static electrification of copying paper, etc., having high stability and excellent hydroscopic and heat-insulating properties, by mixing proline and 2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylic acid or lactic acid, or their salts. CONSTITUTION:A wetting agent composition is obtained by mixing proline (A) and 2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylic acid(a) and/or lactic acid(b), or the salts of (a) and (b)(B), in which (a) and (b) in the form of free carboxylic acids may be mixed with (A), but their salts, e.g., Na, K, NH4 monoethanolamine, and triethylamine salts, having a high hygroscopic property, are preferably used. The content of 50% or less of (A) results in a particularly high synergistic effect.
