Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a methyl methacrylate resin film or sheet which has a special molecular orientation structure and whose MI., thermal contraction stress, two-axis- direction thermal contraction stress ratio, thermal contraction stress difference, etc. are prescribed and which excels in bending strenghth, high-speed tensile strength, falling weight impact strength, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A methyl methacrylate resin, which comprises 1W15wt% of an acrylic alkyl ester containing a C1W4 alkyl group and 0W3wt% of an ultraviolet ray absorbent, is shaped as a sheet. After the sheet is stretched along one axis, it is stretched again along two axes to make a film or sheet which has a special high- degree structure. The MI (complying with D1238-70-I of ASTM), thermal contraction stress (complying with D1504 of ASTM, two-axis-directional thermal contraction stress ratio (ratio of maximum value to minimum value of thermal contraction stress), two-axis-direction thermal contraction stress difference (difference between maximum and minimum values of thermal contraction stress), high-speed tensile strength and critical strain of the film or sheet are 0.5W12g per 10min., 5W30kg/ cm2, 1W2, 10kg/cm2 or less, 7kg/mm2 or more and 0.1% or more.
