Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the thickness of a tank plate by a method wherein both sides of a box reinforcing body of a tank body are formed using a reinforcing material having a V-shaped cross section, and fixed as specified to the semi-circular portions of the side plates of the tank body.
CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing material 10 bent in the shape of V has the same length as the hieght of the side plate 1 of a tank, and the side wall 14 of a reinforcing body 13 is formed by engaging the side of the box reinforcing body 13 with a concave portion 12 provided on one side. The side wall 14 forms an angle of θ with the surface of a plate 8, while the edge of the side wall 14 is positioned in a region where the moment in the circumferential direction of semi-circle portion 1b of the side plate is the smallest, then the external surface of the side wall 14 is formed so that it corresponds to the tangent line of the semi-circle portion 1b. By so doing, the concentration of stress in an area near the connected portion of the side wall of a gas chamber and the side plate of the tank is extremely eased. Therefore, the thickness of the plate to be used can be reduced.
