Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the reduction of the length of a pump and the simplification of a device therefor by providing a balance piston by the use of the connecting part between both power rotors and balancing the device as a whole, thereby making it unnecessary to provide any attached means near both ends of a driving shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A driving shaft B is commonly driven at one end 4 thereof, while a screw pump with a small diameter has a sucking port 5 and a discharge port 6 and a screw pump with a large diameter -- a sucking port 7 and a discharge port 8. Pressure-receiving cylindrical parts 12a and 12b, which form a balance piston 12, are connected with each other at a bordering part 13, where an orifice 14 is provided as a means for drainage. The diameter of the pressure-receiving cylindrical part 12a constitutes a hydraulic balance with the power rotor 1 of the small-diameter screw pump and the diameter of the pressure-receiving cylindrical part 12b -- the power rotor 2 of the large-diameter screw pump, respectively. Thus an overall balance can be obtained, which makes it unnecessary to provide troublesome means and enables the reduction of the full length of the pump.
