Abstract
PURPOSE:To accurately detect the remaining toner amount for a given value or more, by detouching the toner attached to the member which is compulsively oscillated, in the unit detecting the remaining amount of toner from the displacement of the oscillation member. CONSTITUTION:The driving circuit 5 constitutes an oscillating circuit with the electrostrictive oscillator 6 provided at a specified part of the toner hopper wall and the high gain amplifier 7, and when the toner pressure to the electrostrictive oscillator 6 is a given value or less and the toner remaining amount in the hopper is a given value or less, the oscillating circuit oscillates to drive the detecting circuit 13. If whether or not the toner remaining amount is given value or less is detected, the switch 12 is switched to the forced oscillating circuit 10 to compulsively oscillate the electrostrictive oscillator 6. Thus, the toner attached to the electrostrictive oscillator 6 is detouched and the malfunction of the said oscillating circuit due to the toner attached to the electrostrictive oscillator 6 when the toner remaining amount in the hopper is a given value or less can be avoided.
