Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the surface lubricity of an image retentive member for retaining an electrostatic image or a toner image and enhance the durability and cleaning resistance thereof by forming an insulating layer based on specified silicone-modified urethane resin on the surface of the member.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of an image retentive member having a photoconductive layer for an electrophotographic receptor or a photoconductive layer-free image retentive member used in transfer development is coated with resin liq. based on resin liq. composed of alcohol-modified silicone oil represented by formual I or II (where each of m, x and y is a positive integer) and polyisocyanate such as tolylene diisocyanate and contg. other polyol compound such as acrylic polyol, and then the coated liq. is heated to form a silicone-modified urethane resin layer. Thus, the surface friction coefft. of the member is lowered to facilitate cleaning, and a clear image is obtd.
