Abstract

PURPOSE:To accomplish a higher speed and a greater resolution of the printing along with the color application by joining the nozzle plate having a plurality of nozzles at the center the base plate having ink passage grooves on the surface in the number equal thereto. CONSTITUTION:When filling, ink is fully poured to the nozzle 2 via ink passage grooves 6 and the communicating section 4 from the pressure chamber 5 with the ink feed tube connected to the ink feed port provided on the base plate. When with the head full of ink, a pulse voltage of about 100V is impulsively applied to the piezo-electric element 9, the element 9 vibrates diametrically to cause an impact wave through the ink in the pressure chamber 5. The impact wave transmits to the nozzle 2 via the ink passage grooves 6 and the communicating section to jet the ink at the tip of the nozzle 2. The ink thus jetted flies in drops due to its viscosity and surface tension.
