Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve liquid leakage proofness by using a cured substance consisting of a specific epoxy resin and a polyamide, serving as a curing agent, as a sealant used for sealing area. CONSTITUTION:A battery is formed, for example, by housing the positive electrode flux 1 mainly consisting of silver oxide powder, the separtor 3 consisting of a liquid holding layer of semi-transparent films such as cellophane and nylon non-woven cloth, and the negative electrode flux 2 mainly consisting of zinc iodide powder in the positive electrode can 4 and enclosing and sealing them by the use of the packing 6 and the negative electrode can 5 of which inside is made of a copper sheet and of which outside is a stainless steel sheet. Sealant 7 is provided at the sealing area of such a battery. As this sealant 7, a cured substance consisting of epoxy resin with an average molecular weight of 450 or more and a polyamide, serving as a curing agent, are used. This permits the sealing agent 7 to adhere to both the metallic can 5 and the packing 6 and to improve its liquid leakage proofness.
