Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the transmission-type screen which permits sufficient observation even in a bright room by using the lenticular lens provided with a Fresnel lens and diffusion face.
CONSTITUTION: A Fresnel lens 2 of concentrical form of pitch 0.2mm is formed on one plane of a transparent polymethyl methacrylate of a refractive index 1.492. Also, a lenticular lens 3 of pitch 0.1mm is formed on the plane opposing to the plane of this Fresnel lens 2 and a diffusion face 4 of surface roughness 0.5μ is formed on the surface of this lenticular lens 3. Directivity is controlled by the lenticular lens 3 and condensing characteristic is controlled by the Fresnel lens 2. Since incident rays do not enter the layer having the diffusion face 4 and their reflection is less, the transmittance does not lower. Hence, the high-luminance transmission type screen having a light transmittance of 90% or more is obtained.
