Abstract

PURPOSE: A polyolefin composition which provides biaxially stretched films having excellent transparency and strength, comprising a polyolefin and a basic inorganic metal compound powder having a specific particle size distribution.
CONSTITUTION: To a polyolefin, such as PE or PP, prepared by using a Ziegler catalyst and omitting a catalyst removal process is added 0.005W0.5wt%, pref., 0.05W0.2wt% of a basic inorgainc metal compound having a particle size distribution of up to 1.0wt% of the particles having diameters ≥20μ and up to 3.0wt% of the particles having diameters ≥16μ, and selected from the group consisting of (hydr)oxide of Li, K, Mg, Na, Ca, Zn, Al or Si and a double (hydr)oxide of Mg- Si, Mg-Al, etc.
