Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title composition giving a molded article having excellent strength, elongation and hardness and free of plastic deformation, by compounding a powdery vulcanized rubber with a binder comprising a liquid polyisoprene rubber or the addition product of liquid polyisoprene rubber and maleic anhydride (derivative).
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is prepared by compounding a powdery vulcanized rubber with a liquid polyisoprene rubber having a molecular weight of 18,000W150,000 or a modified liquid polyisoprene obtained by adding 0.5W15mol% of maleic anhydride (or its derivative) to the liquid polyisoprene.
EFFECT: The compound can be converted to a homogeneous composition by mild heating. The composition containing the modified liquid polyisoprene can be cured by various vulcanizing methods or at low temperature, and has high adhesivity to metals.
