Abstract
PURPOSE: A fungicide capable of preventing effectively the occurrence of molds and fungi in drying incenses without causing pungent odor in burning incense, comprising ethyl thiocyanatoacetate as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: Incenses are blended with 0.01W0.2wt% of ethtyl thiocyanatoacetate as a fungicide. An incense stick for a household Buddhist altar, a mosquito-repellent incense, etc. may be cited as the incenses. As the incenses keep a high water content for a long period due to the natural drying in the drying operation of their production, molds and fungi occur extremely. Ethyl thiocyanatoacetate exhibits a strong fungicidal effect on the incenses with a high water content. A synergistic action can be expected by using the incenses together with sorbic acid or dihydroacetic acid, conventional fungicides.
