Abstract
PURPOSE: To ensure that a quartermaster can take a seat when a boarding gate is closed and that the gate does not obstruct passage when a door plate is open such as at anchorage, by a method wherein a door plate at a boarding gate at a transom or the like of a boat such as a cruiser type sailboat is provided with a seat.
CONSTITUTION: A transom 7 of a boat is formed with a boarding gate 19, which is an open-top U-shaped opening cut out in the transom 7. A door plate 20 can be fitted to and removed from the gate 19, and is provided at its top end with a seat 21 extending toward a cockpit. With the door plate 20 inserted into the gate 19, from above the gate 19 is closed and the seat 21 can be used as a seat for a quartermaster.
