Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an emulsifier composition enabling to obtain a cream or lotion having a mild action on skin by emulsifying an oil component easily and exactly and which contains a combination of a basic amino acid salt of a fatty acid and a sterol compound as requisite components. CONSTITUTION:The emulsifier composition contains a basic amino acid salt of a fatty acid, e.g., L-lysine salt of MC stearic acid, synthesized from an 8-40C fatty acid and lysine, etc., and a sterol compound, e.g., cholesterol, in a proportion of approx. 20:1-1:20 by wt. The composition can sufficiently emulsify an oil component, e.g., a mineral oil, an animal oil, a vegetable oil, a wax, a synthetic ester, etc., to form a stable emulsion. A cream or lotion obtained by adding an adequate additive to the emulsion thus obtained or the emulsion itself acts mildly on the skin and has excellent useability and appearance.
