Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent an almost rectangular shadow mask from being affected by its thermal deformation and make its appearance look more attractive by linking its slots through a bridge and forming a number of slot rows.
CONSTITUTION: Phosphor stripes are provided almost in parallel to the Y axis. The color shift caused by local doming occurs in the direction of the array of the phosphor stripes. This shift does not appear as actual damage nor is very apt to appear on the Y axis and its vicinity, i.e. near the point C. The slot arrangement for both ends of the effective screen are of barrel shape and neither bad nor short stripe occurs.
