Abstract

PURPOSE: The title pigment having improved dispensibility, and inorganic nature, comprising a surfactant having hydrophilic groups bonded to multivalent metallic ions adsorbed to the quinacridone particle nucleus and an insoluble metal salt filled into the cavity of the surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: Hydrophilic or hydrophobic groups of a plurality of surfactant molecules, preferably an anionic type, are adsorbed on the quinacridone particle nucleus to form a surfactant layer. An insoluble metal salt, e.g: a hydroxide, carbonate, or sulfate, is filled into the cavity of the surfactant on the nucleus to give a filled layer. Bi-or multivalent metallic ions, e.g. Fe, Co, or Al are bonded to the hydrophilic groups to form the objective pigment.
EFFECT: Improved water resistance of films.
