Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a paper feed mechanism using a simple mechanism by providing endless belt at both ends of a platen so that the belts come into contact with the outer peripheral surface of a part of the platen of an impact printer thereby to guide the paper between the platen and the belts.
CONSTITUTION: In order to guide a paper 12 in the vicinity of the lower part of a platen, a paper guide plate 19 is provided. Endless belts 11 come into contact respectively with the outer peripheral surfaces at both end parts 102 of the platen 10, which parts are faced with the printing head 13, and are guided by four guide rollers 21. Since these belts 11 tightly adhere to both end parts with a great frictional force, when the platen 10 is rotated and driven by a motor 14, the belts 11 are driven in accordance with the rotation of the platen 10. The paper 12 is clamped between the belts and the platen and fed in a predetermined direction.
