Abstract
PURPOSE: To correctly finish surfaces of the oil seal, with an sutomatic backward movement operated of the grinding tool under the work of grinding the oil seal, by means of making a contact of the electrodes to each other of detector and detector holder when relatively moving in the axial way.
CONSTITUTION: With the movement of a shaft 5 made in a direction of the arrow mark A in the drawing while being rotated, a conical surface 4 of a grinding tool 3, provided in the point end of the shaft 5, is contacted to the side part of lip L of an oil seal 2, held by a holder 1, and the grinding tool 3 is moved toward the direction of the arrow mark A with this lip L while being ground. At this operation, a detector 12 moves in the direction of the arrow mark A, without rotating motion, together with the shaft 5, and its point end T proceeds to be contacted to a flange part G of the oil seal 2. Further with a shaft 6 proceeding in the direction of A, though the detector 12 is not moved, a detector holder 7 proceeds in the direction of the arrow mark A together with the grinding tool, finally with a contact made between contacts E, F of the detector holder 7 and the detector 12, and the electric circuit closed. So with the shaft 5 going backward in a direction of the arrow mark B as shown in the drawing, a grinding work is made a completion.
