Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve temperature characteristics by using a current Miller circuit instead of a transistor which generates a difference in base-emitter voltage between two transistors.
CONSTITUTION: Transistors Tr1 and Tr7 have their current density ratio held constant without reference to a change in temperature by a current Miller circuit composed of Tr's 3 and 4. Further, the current density ratio can freely be set by adjusting the emitter area ratio of either or both couples of Tr's 1 and 7, and Tr's 3 and 4. Next, ΔVBE generated beteween Tr's 1 and 7 appears across resistance 6 being multiplied by a constant value (resistance ratio of resistance 6W8), and consequently the sum of VBE of Tr9 and the above-mentioned voltage is developed at output VREF. Here, equalizing the emitter area of Tr's 4 and 11 to that of Tr's 5 and 10 makes VBE of Tr10 cancel a level shift of diode-connected Tr5.
