Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the accumulation of radioactive clad to small holes, which filter insoluble radioactive solid particles, while improving the efficiency of the regeneration of a filter, by a method wherein the inside walls of the small holes are smoothed by beforehand attaching non-radioactive substance.
CONSTITUTION: A circulation liquid containing thermoplastic non-radioactive particles 70, such as lead particles, etc. is let pass through a small hole 211 in a porous tube filter 21, and the non-radioactive particles 70 are deposited on an inside wall of the small hole 211. After the particles are deposited and accumulated up to saturation value, the porous tube filter 21 is dehydrated, heated and cooled, the melting bodies 71 of the non-radioactive particles 70 are held, and the inside wall is smoothed. Waste fluid is filtered by using the filter 21 treated in this way, thus preventing the accumulation of radioactive clad to the inside wall of the small hole, then decreasing the quantity of radiation, to which the filter is exposed, while improving the efficiency of the regeneration of the filter 21 by back-wash.
