Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid the influence of temperature change without adjustment by generating rectangular waves having an electrical width of 180° with the phase difference of 120° being provided by using a comparator, and prioritizing one of the overlapped portions of the rectangular waves.
CONSTITUTION: AC rectangular waves a∼c which are output from position sensors PS1∼PS3 with the phase relationship of the individual waves being shifted 120° are inputed into comparators 5∼7. Rectangular waves d∼f are outputed from the comparators 5∼7. Under this state of the rectangular waves, effective torque is not generated due to the overlapping of currents as shown by the hatched portion in the Figure even though a current is flown into armature windings A1∼A3. Hence, the current is flown from a diode D4 when transistors Tr1 and Tr2 are turned off simultaneously. Then, a transistor Tr1 is turned off, the current g is not flown to the armature winding A1 for the period of hatched portion, and only the current h is flown to the armature winding A2. The same procedure is applied to the remaining armature-winding currents.
