PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound industrially for use as anti-pectic drugs and thymoleptics, by reacting a reactive derivative of 2-methoxy-5-sulfamoylbenzoic acid as a raw meterial with a bromochloroalkylamine, followed by reacting with alkylamine.
CONSTITUTION: A reactive derivative of 2-methyoxy-5-sulfamoylbenzoic acid (e.g., carboxylate, mixed carboxylic acid anhydride) is reacted with a bromochloro- alkylamine shown by the formula II to give a compound shown by the formula III, which is then reacted with an akylamine shown by the formula H2N-R1 (R1 is lower alkyl) to give a 2-methoxy-5-sulfamoylbenzoic acid amide shown by the formula I.
