Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A peptide shown by the formula (A is Phe or Try) or its salt.
USE: A labeled reagent for determing the amount of a parathyroid hormone in humans.
PROCESS: Amino acids or lower peptides are condensed in the order of the amino acids shown by the formula and a functional protecting group in the side chain is removed at the last stage of the condensation to give a parathyroid hormone derivative shown by the formula. The condensation itself is carried out by the conventional method of peptide synthesis wherein the bonding and removal of a protecting group and condensations are repeated. Formyl or benzyl group may be cited as the protecting group.
EFFECT: Having a parathyroid hormone (PTH) action, an immunological activity to an antibody of PTH, and a strong affinity for a receptor of PTH. Although the title compound is labeled by I125, it has a stable radioactive action and doesn't lower the immunological activity.
