Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the abrasiveness of an abrasive fabric by scattering abrasive particles on both sides of a bulky non-woven fabric formed of synthetic fibers of a specific denier while the size-coated layer is in wet state, and then drying the fabric to temporalily fixing the abrasive particles to uniformly attach the abrasive particles to the surface of fibers of the inner layer of the non-woven fabric.
CONSTITUTION: After coating the surface of a non-woven fabric formed of 10W200 denier synthetic fibers by rubber, a layer of size-coating is formed for temporalily fixing abrasive particles, and then the non-woven fabric is dried to fix a part of the abrasive particles on the size-coat resin layer and to uniformly attach the abrasive particles to the surface of fibers of the inner layers of the non-woven fabric. The abrasive non-woven fabric is then impregnated with polyurethane resin which is flexible and adhesive to the abrasive particles and the size-coat resin to form a super size-coat layer, dried, and then heat-treated to finish a non-woven abrasive fabric.
