Abstract
PURPOSE: To surely braze moldings to themselves or to other molten products without using any special materials by exerting external force to the surface of the powder molding to crush the pores of the surface layer then performing brazing to the mating product in the specified atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: External pressure by a mechanical technique is exterted to the faying surface of a powder molding 1 to crush the pores 3 of the surface layer region, whereby a dense surface layer 4 is formed. This surface layer is contacted and assembled to the mating product 5 of powder molding or molten product having undergone the similar treatment, thence the specified brazing material 6 is placed along the boundary portions of the contact. This is then put into a heating furnace or the like and is heated to the specified brazing temperature in a reducing or inert atmosphere. According to this method, the dense surface layers 4 act as sealing materials for the brazing material 6, by which the phenomenon that the brazing material 6 infiltrates the inside pores 2 owing to capillarity is prevented and the both products are surely brazed.
