Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent an optical detector from being affected by disturbance, by setting flip-flop circuits when both of a pulse light emission signal and a light reception signal are present and by resetting the flip-flop circuits when only the pulse light emission signal is present.
CONSTITUTION: A pulse oscillation circuit comprises NAND gates N1WN3. An LED is caused to emit light, through a transistor Tr. The light is reflected by a detected object P and then introduced into a photodiode PD, the electric output of which is amplified by an operational amplifier. The amplified output is applied to a NAND gate N4 through said one N3. A pulse oscillation output is also applied to the NAND gate N4. When the pulse oscillation output 1 coincides with the output of the NAND gate N3, flip-flop circuits N6, N7 are set to produce an output 6. When a light reception signal 4 is not resent, the flip-flop circuits are reset not to produce the output 6. This results in suppressing the influence of disturbance and providing a quick responding property.
