Abstract

PURPOSE: To dynamically brake an armature at a service interruption time by supplying counter electromotive force generated by the armature to a field winding to establish field magnetic flux.
CONSTITUTION: When a power supply is normal, an electromagnetic contactor 7a is closed and an electromagnetic contactor 7b is opened. Thus, an exciting current is supplied from a DC power supply 10 through a resistor 9 to a field winding 6. When the power supply is interrupted, the contactor 7a is opened and the contactor 7b is closed. Thus, the field winding 6 is connected to an armature 5, and an electromagnetic switch 3a is opened and an electromagnetic switch 3b is closed. Thus, the counter electromotive force is supplied from the armature 5 to the field winding 6 to establish the field magnetic flux so as to dynamically brake the armature via a dynamic brake resistor 4.
