Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent an upper work roll from playing and dispense with altering a cutting die depending on a direction, by fitting a side plate with a pair of rotary support members for supporting the shaft end of the work roll on its bottom and by applying strong pressure to the shaft end through thrusting rotary members.
CONSTITUTION: Guide plates 13, 13' are secured on a side plate 5 to guide both the sides of a vertically moving plate 12. The bottom of a bolt 9 extending through a block 8 is set in contact with the center of the top of the vertically moving plate 12. Thrusting rotary members 11, 11' are supported on the plate 12 so that the rotary members are symmetrically located right and left on the supported part 7 of an upper work roll 6. Support plates 14, 14' are secured on both the sides of the side plate 5. Rotary support plates 10, 10' for symmetrically supporting the part 7 of the roll 6 are attached to the support plates 14, 14'. The bolt 9 is screwed to thrust down the vertically moving plate 12. As a result, working is effected while the supported part 7 of the upper work roll 6 is thrusted on the rotary support plates 10, 10' through the thrusting rotary members 11, 11'.
