Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an easily-built compact and cheap cleaning protector for the outlet orifice of the ink jet recorder of an electronic desk calculator or the like having a protection chamber equipped with a brush-like hair part and a liquid absorber containing a solvent of high boiling point. CONSTITUTION:In a compact electronic desk calculator or the like employing an ink jet recording head, the tip of an outlet orifice 11 is pushed into a protection chamber 7 provided in a reset position when the recording head 1 is returned to the reset position. Brush-like hair pieces 12 provided at the inlet port of the protection chamber slide at first on the tip of the outlet orifice 11. The hair pieces come into contact with a liquid absorber 13 containing a solvent of high boiling point when the head is in the reset position. As a result, impurities mixed in or adhering to the outlet orifice 11 are cleaned away and a recording medium liquid is prevented from being dried.
