Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain the clamp force of a work even after a compressor is stopped by providing a compression coil spring at a booster cylinder and urging a piston telescoped within the cylinder by compressed air pressure and the spring force to drive the cylinder to thereby clamp the work.
CONSTITUTION: A compression coil spring 2 is provided between the piston C of a pneumatic cylinder and a head cover 1. Compressed air is supplied through an air port P2 to forward a ram d by the air pressure and the elastic pressure of the spring 2 to thereby boost a high oil pressure chamber b to thus drive an actuator cylinder E to thereby clamp a work. Even if the supply of compressed air through the port P2 is stopped in the thus boosted state, the clamp force is maintained by the elastic pressure of the spring 2. A valve ram 7 is provided at the side opposite to the booster ram of the piston C, and inserted into the valve tube 8 of the cylinder. When oil leaks in the high oil pressure system, the piston C is forwarded to cause the ram 7 to be separated from the tube 8 to open the tube 8 to thereby warn an alarm.
