Abstract

PURPOSE:To economically provide the title steel plate by a method wherein steel consisting of specific composition such as C, Si, etc. is hot- and cold-rolled, is box- annealed at a specified temperature, and after cooling, is subject to heating and cooling in a continuous annealing furnace having heating zone over 600 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:Steel used consists of C: 0.2% or less, Si: 1% or less, Mn: 0.8- 2.5%, sol Al: 0.01-0.2%, N: 0.0015-0.015%, P: 0.1% or less, and the remaining Fe. The steel, after hot-and cold-rolling, is subject to box-annealing at 650- 800 deg.C and is continuously annealed in a continuous annealing furnace having heating zone over 600 deg.C, in a heat pattern with temperature rise rate of about 20 deg.C/s, uniform heat of about 750 deg.C for 1min, and cooling at a rate of about 10 deg.C/s to room temperature. The process allows the use of less amount of added Mn, and proper addition of sol Al and N to provide high tensile steel plate having yield ratio of 0.6 and below and r value (Lankford value) of 1.2 and above.
