Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve precision while simplifying constitution by giving effect to digital detection of a difference in phase between two alternating currents.
CONSTITUTION: Of two AC power supplies 1a and 1b, AC waveforms are applied to rise detection circuits 3a and 3b through rectangular waveform converter circuits 2a and 2b. Then, flip-flops 4a and 4b of rise detection circuits 3a and 3b are set and reset by the outputs of rise detection circuits 3a and 3b to gate counters 6a and 6b counting the number of pulses from oscillation circuit 5 outputting reference pulses of a constant frequency. As a difference in phase between two AC power supplies is larger, a set-reset interval increases, so that the count number of pulses will increase. Namely, the number of counted pulses is outputted through registers 7a and 7b to know the phase difference.
