Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the liquid-holding capacity, shaping efficiency, and others by constructing a positive pole made by laying a sub-active material layer of non silver- oxide containing porous metallic bodies upon a main active material layer of silver oxide to face to a negative pole with the sub-active material layer arranged on the side of a separator. CONSTITUTION:A sub-active material layer 2 containing porous metals is shaped by filling gaps of porous metals 1 such as spongy or foamed metals with sub-active materials other than silver oxide such as manganese dioxide. Thereon, a main active material layer 3 made of silver oxide such as argentous or argentic oxide is laid for shaping a positive pole 4, and a battery is constructed to make the sub-active material layer 2 face to a negative pole 9 with a separator 7 between. Nickel, silver, nickel-chromium alloy or the like stable to active materials is used for porous metallic bodies 1. This construction serves to improve the shaping efficiency and liquid- holding capacity of the positive pole 4, and protect the separator from injuries, while improving the conductivity and discharge characteristic.
