Abstract

PURPOSE: To solidify and innoxicate noxious waste by using hydraulic cement, as a main agent, and special additives.
CONSTITUTION: In solidifying muddy, powder, or particulate soil or waste containing biologically noxious susbstances, a main agent consisting of hydraulic cement such as Portland cement, blast-furnace cement, silica cement, flyash cement, or the like is added to the treated matter together with additives consisting of (a) at least one sulfate selected from the group consisting of aluminum sulfate, alum, ferrous sulfate, and ferric sulfate; and (b) at least one alkali metal salt selected from the group consisting of alkali carbonates and alkali bicarbonates. Water is added as needed to solidify the matter. When such substances as to hinder the hydration cure are present in the matter, there is added (c) an alkali earth metal hydride or oxide.
