Abstract
PURPOSE: To relatively easily remodel a tanker to a modular cargo boat, by removing a tank bottom structure surrounded by longitudinal bulkheads provided symmetrically in respect to the center line of the hull.
CONSTITUTION: The tank bottom structure surrounded by the longitudinal bulkheads provided symmetrically in respect to the center line 13 of the hull of the tanker is cut off and removed. A shaping bow part 3 is added to the hull so that the bow part extends from the outside bottom plate of the bow to the bottom 23 of the deck. A shaping stern part 4 is added to the hull so that the stern part extends from the deck bottom 23 to the outside bottom plate 25 of the stern. Thereby, the removed part is closed and the increase in the hull resistance is prevented to cause the water to smoothly pass. As a result, the tank part is shaped like a catamaran, and adverse superfluous buoyancy and bending moment are prevented.
