Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a good-color reproducibility picture quality with eliminating the shift of white balance in a highlight video signal part by interlocking a white compression circuit with the white balance adjustment companied with the change of the color temperature of a pickup scene.
CONSTITUTION: In respect to incident light X2, channel B has a video level lower than G, and channel R has a video level lower than G, and then, the channel level relation is R1<G1<B1. Then, the gain of gain control circuit 3 is adjusted by variable resistance 11 for the purpose of obtaining relation G1=R1=B1 for X2, and the knee point and the white clip level of white compression circuit 2 are adjusted by level setting circuit 13 while interlocking the adjustment above. As a result, good-white balance video signals can be obtained as the output of gain control circuit 3 and video signal processing circuit 4 even for highlight signals.
