Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a steam from blowing through, by a constitution of high-low type sealing method, where protruded and recessed parts, formed at one edge of the bucket cover, and a plurality of fins, provided on a wall face of the diaphragm, are facing to each other.
CONSTITUTION: Thickness of a bucket cover 2 is made bigger than that as in the past, with a groove 9 provided by a forming of protruded and recessed parts in a front edge part 6 and/or rear edge part 7, and made facing a plurality of fins 20, 21 on a side wall part 8 of diaphragm outer wheel through a clearance apart. Under a stabilized condition of the turbine at high temperature, a difference of expansion between a casing of the turbine and the rotor decreases a clearance, as shown by a one-dot chain line in the drawing, between the front edge part 6 of the bucket cover and a fin segment 10 having the fin 20, with a high-low type sealing constructed, resulting in a steam leak reduced through a peripheral part of the bucket cover and an efficiency of the turbine improved.
