Abstract
PURPOSE:To absorb the radial contraction of an inner vessel by the creased parts of circumferential restricting members interposed between the inner vessel and outer vessel and prevent the sliding of the inner vessel by the circumferential shearing rigidity of the members, by providing a plurality of unit plates as the members. CONSTITUTION:The low-temperature double-shell cylindrical tank having a flat bottom and a dome-shaped roof consists of the outer vessel 2 on a foundation 1 and the inner vessel 5 separated from the outer vessel by a bottom heat insulator 3 located on the bottom plate of the outer vessel 2, a side plate and a heat insulator such as pearlite located in the roof. The unit plates 6 previously formed to a curvature equal to that of the gap between both the vessels 5, 2 and having the upward or downward creased parts 7 are welded with fitting pieces 8, 8' between the vessels 5, 2. Thereby, the inner vessel is prevented from sliding and the insulators and pipes between the vessels are protected from being damaged even if an earthquake occurs.
