Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance luminance and stain resistance by a comparatively simple method, by transferring long and narrow wrinkles on the reflective surface of a substrate using a specified matrix in the projection screen reflecting an image on a TV tube.
CONSTITUTION: Spherical surface 2 of matrix 1 made of aluminum alloy or the like corresponds to the curved surface necessary for a projection screen and formed in the shape corresponding to a face having long and narrow, one-directional, discontinuous wrinkles so as to have an optimum directivity as a screen. Lamination of thermosetting resinous material 3 and glass fibers 4 is repeated in a few times, and then, thermosetting is effected. On the concave face to be used as the reflective face of screen substrate 8, a face is formed having the above wrinkles transferred from mold 1, and on this, an aluminum or silver coating is applied with spray gun 7 to form a thin reflective film.
