Abstract
PURPOSE: The title adhesive having improved flame retardancy, electric arc sparking and tracking resistance, by adding a specific ratio of aluminum hydroxide, red phosphorus and tricresyl phosphate to a thermoplastic base resin.
CONSTITUTION: A) 100 parts by wt. of a thermoplastic base resin, preferably, a polyimido, a polyester, or EVA copolymer resin is blended with B) (a) 40W150 parts by wt. of aluminum hydroxide (preferably gibbsite crystal structure) and (b) 5W40 parts by wt. of red phosphorus as flame-retardants, and C) 5W25 parts by wt. of tricresyl phosphate as a flame-retardant auxiliary and a plasticizer to give the desired adhesive.
EFFECT: Non-pollution.
