Abstract

PURPOSE:To stir and mix sludge in transit without use of a special stirring and mixing device and to prevent sand and others of high relavive gravity from setting on the bottom of a transport pipe. CONSTITUTION:In a sludge transport line, coagulant tank 2 is provided by means of piping 4 provided with pump 3 and check valve 5 in its midway position 6. On the lower stream side of the above-descrived position 6, a spiral tube of a fixed length is provided, and spiral passage 8 is formed here. Solidifier tank 9 is provided by means of piping 11 equipped with pump 10 and check valve 12 at the lower stream position 13 of spiral passage 8. Sludge transport booster pump 14 is installed on the lower stream side of the above-described position 13, and flow meter 15 is provided on its lower stream side. By this sludge is stirred and mixed as it flows spirally through spiral passage 8. At the same time, sand and others of high relative gravity are also stirred and mixed and are prevented from sinking to the bottom of the pipe.
