Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate foreign matter contained in waste quenching liq. through floatation, by addn. of organic amine series flocculant to the waste liq. and by stirring the mixt. through air-blow.
CONSTITUTION: Waste liq. A collected in a reservoir 1 is pumped by a pump P by portions of a prescribed quantity to a floatation tank 3 together with a proper quantity of organic amine series flocculant B delivered from another reservoir 9 for the flocculant. The mixed liq. C is sufficiently stirred and mixed by an air-blow stirrer 6, hereby foreign matter, e.g., waste hydraulic oil, waste cutting oil, or emulsified oil, contained in the waste liq. rises up on the liq. surface as a floating aggregate by the action of the amine series flocculant B. The aggregated floating substance D is collected with a scraper 4 and sent to a recovering tank 14 and is disposed. The regenerated quenching liq. E is recovered to a recovering tank 11 for regenerated liq., then it is reutilized. This method allows to remove foreign matter, e.g., emulsified oil, only without causing decrease in pH, separation of antioxidant and a stabilizer etc.
