Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the time required for measurement, by providing a signal processing apparatus to deliver an output by converting the clock speed of digital signal through writing in and reading from a memory device.
CONSTITUTION: A frequency divider 52 comprises a presettable down-counter. First the content A of buffer register 51 is preset, and the clock pulses generated from a clock generator are counted down. Every time the content of the counter which composes the frequency divider 52 becomes zero, a pulse is outputted, and at the same time the content A from the buffer register 51 is preset again. Such operation is repeated by this frequency divider. Therefore, when the frequency of clock pulse of the imput of this frequency divider 52 is supposed to be f0, the output frequency of the frequency divider 52 will be F0/A.
