Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of operation by checking rise in thermal flow velocity by means of a control circuit which enables a scram of the reactor in advance by tracing the initial cause of the quick closing of the turbine adjusting valve.
CONSTITUTION: When a transmission wire trouble (block 35) or an accident related to the generator (block 36), usually causing a tripping of a main braker 4, is detected, they are perceived as a cause of tripping of the main breaker 4 as well as a factor for the scram of the reactor through OR circuit 37. This matter is handled in the following procedure: Event occuring as a cause of tripping breakers, tripping main breaker, acceleration of turbine, and tripping turbine. Accordingly, it is possible to trip the reactor in advance of the turbine tripping through a scram of the reactor by seizing the initial event. If so, the rise in the thermal flow velocity due to a boost in neutron flux can be checked through there is a rise in the pressure of the reactor when the turbine is tripped.
