Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title composition with low volatility, odor, as well as reduced toxicity, leading to freedom from fear of working atmosphere degradation and pollution, by incorporating a specific momoepoxg compound as a diluent in a polyfunctional epoxy compound.
CONSTITUTION: A monoepoxy compound of formula I [R is a (substituted)- 1-8C alkyl; n is 1 or 2] is incorporated, as a reactive diluent, in a polyfunctional epoxy compound. In order to prepare the compound of formula I, for example, a condensation reaction is carried out between a monoalcohol of formula II and an epihalohydrin.
