Abstract

CONSTITUTION: On the device which converts the 1st characters such as "kana" characters (japanese syllabary) into the 2nd characters such as a chinese-character group, the indexes of the 1st characters are arranged in index area 36 in the memory unit. Area 37 of the number of homophones is provided next to this index area 36, and the field to which the 1st characters belong is assigned; an example is that politics is assigned to 39, economics is to 40, and the whole fields are to 41. Consequently, the 1st characters can be converted into the 2nd characters efficiently in a short time.
