Abstract
PURPOSE: To make gamma ray emitted from fission products to neutron property by heavy hydrogen for measuring power distribution of reactor irradiation fuel by measuring neutron flux thereof.
CONSTITUTION: Detector holding device 2 and 3 are provided for the holding device 2 comprises heavy hydrogen contained material 4 and neutron detector 5. The holding device 3 comprises the material 7 which not contained heavy hydrogen and neutron detector 8. The gamma ray emanated from the irradiation fuel 1 enters into the holding devies 2 and 3. The gamma ray allows to make neutron property by reaction with heavy hydrogen, the neutron flux thereof being measured by detectors 5 and 8. Further, the irradiation fuel 1 is roteted 180° to measure neutron flux similarly. The measurements difference between respective detectors 5 and 8 before and after the rotation is proportional to the power of irradiation fuel. This allows the power distribution of irradiation fuel to measure.
