Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the corrosion resistance, etc., of a composite material remarkably, by bringing an FRP layer of a free-radical polymerization thermosetting resin into contact with an oxidizing material, and an FRP layer of a furan resin into contact with a non-oxidizing material, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: An FRP layer made of a furan resin in a composite material is brought into contact with a non-oxidizing mterial; the other FRP layer made of radically polymerizable thermosetting resin, into contact with an oxidizing material, thus isolating the oxidizing material from the non-oxidizing material for a long time based on the properties of the FRP layers.
EFFECT: Improved chemical and crack resistance and retained high tensile strength at elevated temperatures.
